The week of October 19 to 25, 2026 arrives charged with Plutonian intensity, as the recently stationed dwarf planet continues its powerful standstill influence in the sky. A retrograde Venus squares Pluto on Monday, pulling hidden truths about relationships and finances into the open, while the Sun's entry into Scorpio on Friday deepens our willingness to peer into the shadows. The week culminates in a dramatic Taurus Full Moon on Sunday, locked in a tight fixed T-square with Pluto, promising both upheaval and the possibility of profound personal transformation. Mercury also stations retrograde on Saturday, inviting us to slow down, review our commitments, and read carefully between the lines.

PLUTONIAN INTENSITY: We are entering another dramatic and emotionally charged week, one in which passionate Pluto once again plays a starring role. The dwarf planet's influence remains very strong—having stationed direct only last Thursday, it is still at a virtual standstill in the sky.

The sword of transformation wielded by the God of the Underworld is also sharper right now due to the planet being "out of bounds," traveling outside its usual orbital path. Thus, we are likely to feel Monday's Venus-Pluto square and next Sunday's Full Moon—which sees the Sun and Moon tightly square Pluto—with greater intensity than we might expect.

VENUS-PLUTO EFFECT: Venus and Pluto are currently engaged in a three-month tango of fire and ice; their tension-filled dance began with the first Venus-Pluto square on September 15, and completes when the final aspect occurs on December 4. This Monday, October 19, is the second exact square and the midway point of the tango, when the music may indeed be at its most intense, reaching a climax or crisis point.

Venus rules that which we feel adds value, beauty, and substance to our lives: relationships, finances, the arts, and earthly comforts. Pluto is the Great Detective, and in hard aspect uncovers all that is fraudulent, corrupt, manipulative, and fear-based. When these two planets are square each other, much that has been occurring behind the scenes in Venus-ruled areas is revealed. As a result, we can experience increased levels of distrust and suspicion, and get caught up in emotional power struggles.

Since Venus is retrograde for this week's square with Pluto, events that occur now expose what has already been transpiring behind the scenes for quite a while. Thus, while we may feel shocked or appalled by what is revealed, there is a perceptive, psychic aspect of us that is not at all surprised.

TAURUS FULL MOON: The peak of the current lunar cycle arrives next Sunday or Monday, depending on your time zone. In Pacific Daylight Time, the Full Moon occurs at 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, when the Moon is at 02°45' Taurus, exactly opposite the Sun at the same degree of Scorpio.

Pluto, at 03°05' Aquarius, is tightly square the two luminaries in the Full Moon chart, forming a very strong fixed T-square configuration. Astrologer Bil Tierney, in his book Dynamics of Aspect Analysis, writes this about Pluto in the "apex" position of a fixed T-square:

"People can be deeply fixated and stubborn concerning their desires, remarkably determined to stick to any course of action they inwardly commit themselves to. Intense frustration could pressure the individual to attempt to control others, leading to power struggles in relationships. [In the positive,] apex Pluto enables the individual to undergo complete and enduring transformations concerning all unlit areas of their personality that otherwise enslave them psychologically."

Whether ultimately perceived as positive or negative, changes at the time of the lunation are likely to upset the status quo; these changes will no doubt conflict with the Taurean desire for a simple, comfortable, and peaceful life. And, with Venus, the ruler of the Full Moon, squaring Pluto and only three degrees away from the Sun, possible manifestations include significant changes in global alliances, personal relationships, resources, supplies, finances, and the economy.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (October 19 to 25, 2026):

Monday

Retrograde Venus square Pluto: Revelations and power struggles are possible in relationship and financial matters. Trust issues rise to the surface, perhaps manifesting as suspicions, jealousies, and possessiveness.

Tuesday

No major aspects are exact today.

Wednesday

Sun trine North Node: Focusing on our inner equilibrium supports us in aligning with our highest evolutionary path.

Retrograde Venus quincunx Neptune, quincunx Sedna: We may feel very unsure of our standing in a relationship, and could be questioning the honesty of others.

Sun opposite Chiron: Insecurities can arise, especially if we have not healed the wounds that convinced us that our needs are not important.

Thursday

No major aspects are exact today.

Friday

Sun enters Scorpio: The solar month of Scorpio begins at 2:37 a.m. PDT today. The sign of the Scorpion and the Eagle is very perceptive, increasing our willingness to see into the shadows and our ability to be emotionally honest.

Neptune sextile Sedna: As these two watery planets work together, we have the opportunity to align with our higher spiritual calling. This aspect also can assist us in transcending the old stories and victim consciousness. This influence is in effect throughout this year, with the exact sextiles occurring on February 20, October 23, and December 23, 2026.

Sun conjunct retrograde Venus: This is the halfway point of Venus' retrograde phase. At this time, we may receive specific insights into relationship and financial issues, which will help us begin to find clarity.

Saturday

Mercury stations retrograde: From our perspective on Earth, Mercury will be traveling backwards through Scorpio for about three weeks, from October 24 to November 13. During this time, we may find ourselves reviewing commitments and conversations, seeking to understand deeper motivations and what was written "between the lines."

Sunday

Retrograde Venus re-enters Libra: Venus, now moving backward, returns to Libra to uncover the truth about relationships, alliances, and agreements. Inequalities and people-pleasing habits are likely to become apparent.

Sun quincunx Neptune, quincunx Sedna: This yod requires us to be honest about our deepest needs and longings, and to acknowledge the unprocessed emotions that may be interfering with our ability to leave the past behind.

Full Moon: The peak of the current lunar cycle occurs at 9:11 p.m. PDT today, when the Moon at 02°45' Taurus opposes the Sun at the same degree of Scorpio.
