Welcome... Our InnerSelf welcomes your inner self.
This week we look at some of life's challenges, and bring you tools to traverse them more easily. The greatest challenge we face, unfortunately almost constantly, is "Negative Self-Talk". This habit can have serious repercussions as discussed in "Are We Literally What We Think?".
On the physical side of life's challenges, you can make things easier by learning the skill of "Communicating With Your Pain". Other useful tools for healing mind-body-spirit are found in "Dream Journeys", as well as in "Healing the Emotional and Energetic Body in the Heart Chakra".
And since everything is cyclical, a challenging time of life that reoccurs every 28 years (more or less) is "The Saturn Returns". While sometimes hard to traverse, these events help us clarify who we are and where we are going... an essential part of our life journey.
And of course, we have numerous additional articles covering topics from A - Z. Scroll down below for short intros to this week's new articles, and the links to access them (free of charge, as usual).
Wishing you enjoyable insightful reading, and of course a wonder-full, joy-full, and loving week.

Negative Self-Talk: How Did Those Critical Voices Get In There?
Written by Ira Israel
I believe that the primary goals of consciousness are to keep us alive and to stave off trauma or potential future trauma. Now if I am correct (and I may not be), then self-harm or the extreme of self-harm — self-annihilation — would be extremely difficult. Consider the statistics...

Finding A New Approach: Communicating With Your Pain
Written by Sarah Anne Shockley
After years of unsuccessful efforts to diminish, expel, eradicate, and overcome the pain in my body, I wondered if the pain sensations might be a voice for not only the body but other levels of the self as well. I understood that, while pain felt strong and overbearing and it absolutely dominated my attention, it was not necessarily an adversarial power. It was a reaction.

Are We Literally What We Think?
Written by Julie K. Staples and Daniel Mintie
All day every day we experience things: physical sensations, emotions, and thought patterns. Most of our experience we fail to observe. While having an experience we don’t notice it. While this is well and good when it comes to sensation in our feet or many other aspects of living, failure to observe certain parts of our physical, emotional, and cognitive experience...

A Feather for Your Dream Journeys Into Healing
Written by Larry Burk and Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos
While enjoying my dream, it suddenly stops, like a frozen computer screen or a TV show put on pause. In the center of my dream a pop-up window appears, much like on a computer. The window expands into a door, and a spirit guide/guardian angel dressed as a Franciscan monk in a long, brown, hooded robe with a knotted-rope belt and leather sandals steps through...

Life At The Crossroads: The Saturn Returns One, Two, and Three
Written by Aliza Einhorn
Even if you know nothing else about astrology, you may have heard about the Saturn Return. Its perilous reputation precedes it. It’s when Saturn returns to its natal position in our charts, same sign, same house, same degree. Many, however, do not realize that we get two, or even three, of these, if we live long enough.
